VOA data is being used in place of a question asking the number of rooms in a household to reduce respondent burden. Published information on quality can be found here. Therefore this variable replaces ME11.PPROOM11 in the 2021 Research Database.
The number of persons per room is equal to the number of usual residents in a household divided by the number of rooms in that household's accommodation.
Because of the definitional differences between the census and VOA number of rooms measures, the VOA occupancy rating is typically 1 less than the census occupancy rating at household level |
