| notes | This new field was introduced to allow OGSS files to be used to recode 1996 and subsequent years' events to the new 1997 and subsequent years' codes (i.e. to allow events to be coded forward one year to areas in place at the time of the codes). It is applicable to data from 1996 onwards only. The field is derived during the Rederivation of Areal Data batch process (depending on the processing criteria selected) and NOT from the normal batch of postcoding process. From the particular postcode record on the OGSS this code will eventually become the primary area type for regional statistics, replacing Standard Statistical Regions (SSR's), but for the time being, will be held on the database alongside the existing SSR code. |
