| description | This field is present from 1996 onwards only. The code is derived during the online Communal Establishment coding process from the postcode of place of death, PCDPOD. It uses HLTHAUX on the OGSS Postcode file PNAACMyy or 'History File' PNAACHyy (where yy = year of file), to find the correct value. Values are present for all communal establishment and elsewhere deaths; deaths at home (coded H) are covered by place of residence coding. See OGSS documentation for details of the three character alpha/numeric codes. New values - Qnn (England) or QW1 - QW5 (Wales) using the same range of values as HAUTR. |
